« Last post by Les on November 23, 2011, 05:01:52 PM »
If you want to leave the forum, you may request that your account, and thus all your personal information, be deleted.

Just email/PM an Administrator or Moderator and upon your request and verification, your account will be deleted.  (

Please note, only an email from your registered email address, or a PM which automatically carries your personal ID can be used to request account deletion. This is to prevent malicious account deletion.

Getting Started / Very useful Quick Links to Unread Posts
« Last post by AlanW on November 12, 2011, 05:07:25 PM »
One of the main problems for anyone participating in a forum discussion is where to start looking after login. Most people want to see only the posts that they have not read previously and there is a simple facility to achieve that built into the opening page after logging in.

At the very top of the page your personal Forum Name is displayed together with your Avatar if you have one.

Immediately under that is  a link which if clicked will bring up only the topics which have unread posts contained within. This is a massive time saver.

Beneath this is another link which will only show new replies to any post you personally have made. There is also the facility to receive an email when your topic is responded to (or any other topic for that matter). Simply click on "Attachments and Other Options" at the bottom of the page (It may be necessary to scroll down if it is not visible in the open window. Click on the box next to "Notify me of replies" and ensure a tick appears. An email will now be sent to you immediately there is the next post in that topic. Only one email will be sent even if there are several replies. Once the topics have been read the email reminder is re-instated. Useful ??

Getting Started / How to insert a Quote from a post into your reply
« Last post by AlanW on November 12, 2011, 01:01:39 PM »
Often a poster will wish to quote a passage from a previous post.

There are two methods depending on whether you wish to include the whole post text or just a portion of the text.

To include the whole of the post text in your reply, simply click on the "Quote" icon at the top of the original post. This will automatically open a Reply page with the whole of the original post text already included.  Hit "Post" to post the reply or "Preview" to see what it will look like when posted. If you preview do not forget to hit "Post" when you are satisfied with your reply.

To include just a part of the text in your reply, use the following method. (It may not work in the Opera Browser but has been checked for Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome).

1.  Select the required portion of the text by highlighting it.
2.  Press CTRL+C (Press CTRL key and hold down while pressing the "C" key) to copy the text to the clipboard (computer's memory).
Hit the Reply icon which opens up a reply page.
3.  Write your reply and select where you wish the quote to be displayed. This can be at the very start or at any place within the text of your reply.
4.  Click on the "Insert Quote" icon in the line of icons above the text entry box. It is located at position 13 from the left. If the mouse pointer is hovered over it an information balloon will appear confirming it is the "insert Quote" icon.
5.  The insert quote markers will appear at the position you selected in paragraph 3 above. The cursor will be located in the centre. Insert the quote by pressing CTRL+V
6.  Hit "Post" to post the reply or "Preview" to see what it will look like when posted. If you preview do not forget to hit "Post" when you are satisfied with your reply.

If you have problems and need further advice please contact the administrator for more help.
